On 23 June 2026, Persatuan Pengusaha Restoran India Malaysia (PRIMAS) and Persatuan Pengusaha Restoran Muslim Malaysia (PRESMA) jointly organised a meeting with YB Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Member of Parliament for Bagan and former Minister of Finance, Malaysia, held at PRESMA Office, Sentul Raya Boulevard at 12.00 noon.
The PRIMAS delegation comprised President YBhg. Dato’ J. Govindasamy @ Suresh; Vice President Dr. A. Sinnaiah @ Seenu; Honorary Secretary Mr. N. Shanmugam; Committee Member Mr. U. S. Kannan; and Committee Member Mr. K. Mahavisnoo.
The meeting served as a platform to discuss key issues affecting the restaurant industry, particularly the challenges faced by Indian restaurant operators. A major focus of the discussion was the ongoing shortage of foreign workers, which continues to significantly impact business operations across the sector.
Both associations highlighted their concerns and exchanged views with YB Tuan Lim Guan Eng on possible policy considerations and support mechanisms to address these pressing issues. PRIMAS remains committed to continued engagement with relevant authorities to ensure the sustainability and growth of the Malaysian restaurant industry
